San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater (SFCMT) can be a great opportunity for whole Windsor families or just for kids and teens – it’s up to you. Kids and teens between the ages of five and 21 can audition for the SFCMT summer theater arts program, where they can learn about performance arts while developing their skills in music, dancing, performance, and more. At the end of the 10 week program, the kids and teens who are part of the children’s musical theater summer program put on a live theatrical show in a landmark San Francisco theater. However, entire Windsor and Bay Area families can take part in the SFCMT children’s musical theater summer program experience. We are always looking for parent volunteers to sell tickets and help around the theater in making our productions into the high-quality professional caliber events that audiences have come to expect. Some of the students who have been part of past San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater (SFCMT) summer program productions have gone on to study theater and many have continued to take part in our summer children’s theater program as volunteers and supporters. Families from Sonoma and the Bay Area who have been part of our children’s musical theater summer programs have found their experiences so rewarding that many have been inspired to maintain a close link to the theater. Many alumni of our summer theater program have told us that participating in a professional quality theatrical production was an exciting and profound experience, one that taught them discipline, self-confidence, and creativity.
