Hey Newark families: Are you looking for a summer children’s theater program that is convenient and is run by a professional team? San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater (SFCMT) has a 10 week summer theater program for children, teens, and youths ages five to 21. Like many Newark parks and recreation programs, our program only rehearses on Saturday, making it perfect for busy Newark families. At the end of the theater summer program, your child, teen, or youth will take part in a live production in a historic San Francisco theater in front of a real audience.
SFCMT is able to offer a professional quality summer children’s theater program because it is founded by director John Bisceglie, who has worked with hundreds of theater production since 1985. As well, the dance director of the SFCMT children’s musical theater summer program is Kayvon Kordestani-Thompson. Ms. Kordestani-Thompson studied at the University of the Pacific and has worked as a performer, vocal director, choreographer, and director for more than 60 shows. She has the expertise and talent to help develop the dance and musical skills of any Newark or Bay Area child, teen, or youth in our children’s theater summer programs.
