San Francisco Theaters

The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre

SFCMT has produced several large-scale musicals at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, a 1000 seat performing arts theater located in the Marina District of San Francisco. Originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, the Palace of Fine Arts has become one of San Francisco’s most famous landmarks. Throughout its lifetime, it has undergone necessary significant restorations but has kept its elegant and historical architecture. The theater at the Palace of Fine Arts, which was added in 1970, has held many special televised events, comedy shows, and concerts and has seen many big acts including Wheel of Fortune, Late Show with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jack Nicholson, Van Morrison, Whoopie Goldberg, Lily Tomlin, Celine Dion, Lauren Bacall, The Smothers Brothers, Robin Williams, The Drifters and many more.

Marines’ Memorial Theatre

SFCMT is thrilled to bring its 2013 holiday production to the historic Marines’ Memorial Theatre. Built in 1926, this intimate 650-seat jewel box theatre is located in the heart of San Francisco’s theatre district between Union Square and Nob Hill. The Marines’ Memorial Theatre has a rich history, with many classic events in its past, making it a unique choice among event theaters in San Francisco. In addition to being the former home of the Actors Workshop and American Conservatory Theatre, the theatre has hosted presentations by legendary performers such as Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Jean Stapleton, Lynn Redgrave, and many others.
