The San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater is casting local youth ages 5-18 for two exciting summer youth theater productions! “Disney On Stage!” & “That Kid Can Sing!” Watch our video to learn more about each production.

“Disney On Stage!” Musical Revue

If you like Disney, you’ll love “Disney On Stage!” the all singing, all dancing musical revue, celebrating 75 years of Disney songs from your favorite movies and Broadway shows. Sing and dance for 1000 people at the Beautiful Herbst Theater in San Francisco!

Led by SFCMT musical director Evan Crone, this exciting 10 week program offers group vocal training with a focus on proper singing methods and exploring fundamentals including tone, breathing, resonance, intonation, and diction. The program explores harmony, and includes both group and solo singing, allowing our students to gain experience and develop vocal technique, style and confidence.

Accompanied by Evan Crone on the grand piano, cast members will sing a variety of solo, duet, and group musical numbers.

No experience required, and all who audition will be accepted.

The participation fee is $325 per child. In addition, families are responsible for providing dance shoes ($30) and selling tickets to the show. We will be offering a $100 registration discount for cast members also participating in “That Kid Can Sing!”

How to prepare to audition and select your song:

1. Please prepare to sing a Pop, Country, Broadway or Disney song using your phone or tablet to play your instrumental/karaoke track at auditions. Be ready to sing to a karaoke track without a lead singer. (Background singers are OK.) No homemade piano recordings please.

Please note that “This is me” and “A million dreams” will be our opening and closing number, so please do not select these two songs.

2. The song you sing for us at auditions must be same song you plan on singing in the studio and live showcase.

3. Please be sure to rehearse with your instrumental/karaoke music file prior to auditioning. We want to see that you can properly sing along with your track, in tempo, and in the correct key. You may read the lyrics at auditions.

4. Be sure to select a “family friendly” song that does not contain any inappropriate lyrics or themes. As the quality of available karaoke tracks can vary, please look for the best quality recording you can find.

If you need help finding a karaoke version of your song choice, you can often find your song on iTunes, Amazon or the website “Karaoke-Version” which allows you to select different keys.
